As you could guess, we love an accessory around here. Although our preference lies in the carrying kind, a sparkley bobble is high on the list. So when news of Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson’s engagement hit the RSS feeds, my ears perked. Jesssica Simpson’s engagement means Jessica Simpson’s engagement ring. Though pictures are scarce, we did scrounge up this one from the NY Daily News.

According to People.com, the ring has three stones — “a central ruby flanked by two diamonds” — and is from jeweler Neil Lane.

Simpson, 30, and Johnson, 31, began dating in the spring of this year. This will be a second marriage for both of them. Simpson’s first ring was considerably more traditional, while this colorful choice might be mistaken for a cocktail ring if on another finger.

Although the couple claim to be quite in love, critics say the announcement is timlely considering she’s releasing a Christmas CD. Another interesting point is that the news came a mere week after ex Lachey popped the question to his longtime love, Vanessa Minnillo.
