The Perfect Wedding Purses

Confused Woman

Are you getting married?

If you are, have you ever wondered whether you need a purse or not? You know, on your big day?

I have…And I’ve decided that, yeah, I do need a purse…chap stick, oil sheets and floss on hand, at my table…I can’t lug my Bridal Survival Kit everywhere!

Granted my wedding isn’t until next May, but I’ve been doing some serious shopping around already and have found several sites that may provide the perfect clutch for you on your wedding day…

Let’s go cliché… David’s Bridal for example. This Web site, as common as it may be, knows their stuff. Their wedding handbags are gorgeous! They have a variety of prices and colors, from elegant to modern…BUT…if vintage is for you then try looking at…

Etsy…This website is the queen of vintage! From beads to satin, sequins to pearls…you name it, Etsy’s got it. Now let’s say you’re looking for more than vintage or modern…You want elegance with bright colors, and affordable pricing too! Well then, my dear lady you must engulf in…

Handbag Heaven… Okay so I’m giving a shout out to our own store, but ladies we do have an insanly gorgeous selection of clutches in a HUGE variety of colors! Plus our prices are quite pretty too!

Now I’m sure there are tons more wedding handbag stores all over the world…but these are three of the most ravishing ones I’ve found…

If you’re looking for a purse for your wedding, where are you shopping? I want to know! Please let us know below!

Weekly Roundup

Alright ladies, prepare yourselves for sensory overload in this week’s edition of… The Weekly Roundup!

Looks Like… Donny Osmond. Doppelgangers are all around us and now it’s easier than ever to check out the funny, and sometimes frightening similarities to our favorite celebrities.

Sounds Like… Édith Piaf. First of all, if you haven’t seen Inception, go see it! Secondly, if you have seen it, prepare to have your mind blow one more time.

Smells Like… Success. Twitter meets Youtube meets Old Spice? Yes, I’m talking about the Old Spice man videos that have been sweeping the Internet. If you’re interested in the campaign, or just want to see more high-larious videos, then Matchblog has got you covered.

Tastes Like… Home. If you’re looking for something tasty, delectable and mouthwatering, then look no further. Their ode to mangos alone will have you wanting more.

Feels Like… Years since it’s been here. I’m sorry, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to pay homage to my favorite band and one of my favorite songs - Here Comes The Sun.

Speaking of the sun, summer is starting to wind down so go outside and soak up those rays while you still can!

Celeb Style: Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Pannettiere

If you didn’t love the movie Scream when it first came out then, well, you’re missing out! The Scream saga’s are continuing and in April of 2011 you can expect to see Hayden Panettiere in the cast…Scream 4 aka Scre4m is back at it once again, stabbing, screaming and eerie masks at its finest!

Come on, you cannot deny that Scream didn’t begin the crazed horror movie obsession that is now running ramped throughout the US. I love horror films, but man, directors are getting a little overzealous and producing way too many less-than-quality numbers recently…Just my opinion.

But back to Hayden…If her cutesy ways get destroyed in Scream 4, then no worries, you can still get her purse! If you love her sense of style, then check out our closest comparison, the Courtney Folded Bag.

If you love having a variety of handbags to choose from in your closet, but are seriously lacking the funds to purchase more than one handbag, then ladies, do we have the solution for you! Our Courtney Folded Bag is a shoulder bag, hobo and messenger all in one neat package. The black or pink leatherette is accented with golden hardware and large functional pockets along the exterior.

Courtney Folded BagTwo distinct handles and two sets of hooks allow you to adjust the Courtney as desired. Use the shorter handle to fold over the top for a cute shoulder bag, or use the longer handle with a deeper fold for a coveted messenger look. Looking for a hobo? Attach the shorted handle to the top hook and you instantly have a slouchy hobo. The interior of this adjustable bag is covered in adorable striped fabric and includes the standard zippered pockets and pouches for your smaller items.

It’s possible that Hayden may not survive the cut in Scre4m, but at least you can still get her style from us, scratch free and without the mess!

Staff Review: Dante Stud Hobo

grey studded bag

punk: check'd

Love at first sight isn’t something I really believe in. Unless we’re talking about bags.

Conveniently, this is a handbag blog, so that’s all we do here.

I fell hard for this studded bag immediately. From the size to the perceived stability, and from the appropriate amount of studs to the unique shape, the Dante Stud Hobo is a keeper.

In addition to the look, the feel of this hobo bag is great-the vegan leatherette is thick, with a slight texture to it, which facilitates a genuine leather feel.

The bottom of the bag is flat, which makes digging in the elongated shape more manageable. And the single exterior pocket is perfect for keeping your keys from disappearing into the depths of this oversized handbag.

I carried the Dante for several months, through the winter season, and I loved it completely the whole time. The gorgeous charcoal grey was, of course, my color choice, but the black is perfect for a more dramatic, even-punkier look.

The studs, zipper detailing, and overall toughness of the bag inherently gives a distinct vibe, but the streamlined detail pattern, simple strap, and minimalist design keep the punk in check like no mother can.

The Bachelorette: Who’s Got it in the Bag?

The moment you’ve all been waiting for is here - the most dramatic rose ceremony ever! After wannabe-screenwriter Frank performed his monologue about how leaving Ali to be with his ex was breaking his heart, and disappeared into the sunset, Miss Fedotowsky found her final two, by default. While there is still speculation that this season of The Bachelorette concludes with Ali ridin’ solo, I can’t help but wonder who of the remaining two has the advantage…

Full Name: Roberto Martinez
Age:
26
Profession: Insurance Agent
Currently Resides In: Charleston, SC
What he likes to do for fun: Hang at the beach with a boat, guitar, dominos and good people
Gimmick: He’s a baseball player. While the truth of the matter is that he was a college pitcher with a 7.20 ERA (for those of you who aren’t up on baseball stats that is not good), ABC refuses to pass up an opportunity to dress him in a baseball uniform or show him pondering his love for Ali while tossing the ball around. Their reasoning behind this? See: Secret Weapon.
Secret Weapon: Umm have you seen him? Enough said.

Full Name: Chris Lambton
Age: 33
Profession: Landscaper
Currently Resides In: Cape Cod, MA
His biggest achievement to date: Teaching New York City high school kids for five years, and making a difference
Gimmick: His tight-knit family. Overcoming adversity trumps all, and if you do so by remaining loyal to your family - bonus points for you! Chris lost his mother not too long ago and not only has this made him a stronger person, it’s given him something to talk about in every. single. episode.
Secret Weapon: His name. Yes, this lucky bachelor was blessed with the same name as everyone’s favorite host, Chris Harrison. That can’t be a bad thing!

While I’d like to see her choose sweetheart, Chris, I have a hunch that Roberto is going to be flying his W flag high. After everything that went down with Frank, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ali chooses lust over love. Plus seriously, have you seen Roberto?

What do you think Ali will decide? And better yet, who do you think will be the next Bachelor?

New Merch’ Monday: Hudson Oversized Clutch

You’ve heard the saying, bigger is better. Well I can’t help but think that saying caught on with the Hudson Oversized Clutch in mind. It’s bigger and better than your everyday clutch for a multitude of reasons. In the words of Shakespeare, how is this clutch superior? Let me count the ways…

  1. Hudson Oversized Clutch from Handbag HeavenIt’s black, aka a neutral, aka it goes with everything. You can’t go wrong with a classic and classy black bag.
  2. It’s studded. Need I remind you of my love for studs?
  3. It’s larger than your average clutch which means you can actually carry things in it! No need to decide between your cell phone and your digital camera. Bring them both!
  4. It’s versatile. You can actually clutch this beauty, carry it under your arm, or strap it around your wrist as a wristlet for a hands-free option.
  5. It has pockets, people. Never underestimate the power of pockets. They provide organization and storage space. Totally clutch.
  6. It transitions perfectly from day to evening. Don’t believe me? Ask Fashion Pulse Daily.

Now that you’ve seen the benefits, there’s no denying it - bigger is better. And just remember - it’s a big bad world, so be prepared to tackle it with a big, bad clutch.

Staff Review: Chelsea Envelope Clutch

In league with healthy tans, big clutches are one of my favorite contradictions. A clutch, by definition, should be small. Small enough to, you know, clutch it. But even when I’m carrying a clutch, I still want it to be present enough that forgetting it on the table at the restaurant is not an issue.

If clutches are the most accurate manifestation of the term “handbag,” it may be appropriate to call the Chelsea a ribbag. Or maybe an underside-of-bicepbag. I suppose it could often be a handbag, but I immediately put this guy under my arm as soon as I hold it.

It just fits there.

oversized clutch

underside-of-bicepbag. catchy.

The sheer size of the clutch makes me happy, as I am all about big handbags and accessories, and the colors are just the cherry on top. The extra pump of caramel, if you will. The grey is perfect, because everything grey is perfect. The orange and yellow are bright enough to be fun and poppy, but do have a slight undertone to them. The yellow is a mustard yellow, and the orange is slightly burnt.

(So that’s the theme: burnt mustard and grey poupon. Don’t pretend like it doesn’t sound delicious.)

Condimental connotations aside, this clutch is beautiful, large, and very ready to accompany you on outings from shopping to the dance hall. (Insert “I like my clutches like I like my men” joke.)

Weekly Roundup Goes International

Madrid, Tokyo, Cairo, San Diego… These are all places I dream of. I imagine myself on my own version of The Amazing Race (you know, minus all of the crazy challenges and overly dramatic situations), traveling the world. But then I come back to reality, where there are college loans, rent and lots and lots of Ramen Noodles. So until that day when I find myself leavin’ on a jet plane, not knowing when I’ll be back again, the memories and images of the places I’ve been will have to suffice. So call it a little self-centered, if you will, but this edition of the Weekly Roundup is dedicated to my favorite places in the world. I hope you find them as breathtaking as I do.

Why save the best for last? Florence, Italy is an incredibly beautiful city, bursting at the brim with priceless art and architecture. The birthplace of the Renaissance, Firenze is a city not to be missed.

There’s just something about Ireland that make it impossible to choose one favorite spot. Maybe it’s the friendly people, the green landscape or the beer… But the Cliffs of Moher are a great example of the impressive natural beauty this country has to offer.

Frank Sinatra, The Blues Brothers and Kanye can’t all be wrong, there’s nothing quite like sweet home, Chicago. After 21 years of calling the Windy City home, I’m still in awe of this vibrant city. And the deep dish pizza doesn’t hurt either…

If there was ever a place to literally take your breath away, it would be Cinque Terre. From the water, to the cliffs, to each of the five towns, you won’t find a more colorful place on earth.

If these photos have you itching to travel, go for it! Just be sure not to forget your favorite handbag!
