Celeb Style: Chelsea Clinton’s Hot Handbag!

Chelsea Clinton

Who would have ever imagined that Chelsea Clinton would be in the spot light? I mean, really, the Clinton’s girl? Well, I guess she is kind of stylish, and she does carry cute purses…and Chelsea did just get married. (Which has turned into one of the largest media frenzies ever! Chelsea Clinton got married, and the media exploded…)

Despite the possibly-unwanted attention, Chelsea, we’re on to you! Your fashionable clothes, your stylish handbags…

So I dug deep, and ladies, I found the perfect comparison, with a little more pizazz:

Our Devon Convertible Clutch by Nila Anthony!

This is one of the most versatile bags to hit shelves this season. With a few extra kicks of glamour, this purse mimics Chelsea’s but adds a touch of its own juice to the mixture. You can use the chain strap to carry the Devon over your shoulder, or the longer adjustable strap to carry this bag as a small messenger. Need a clutch? It can do that too! Simply remove both straps and use the Devon as a clutch or evening bag to spice up your night.

The front flap secures with a hook and twist closure and opens to reveal a zippered closure for extra security. Adorable floral printed fabric lines the interior, where you will find one zippered pocket and two open top pockets to help you organize the contents of your life.

Ladies, let’s hear it for Chelsea! She just got married, and now she’s making fashion statements! Are you on board?

Credit Card Addiction

A Stack of Credit Cards

Credit card debt is becoming a huge national crisis in the United States! This is a problem we as a society are getting ourselves into, and must also get ourselves out of! In order to even begin to solve this dilemma we must first and foremost look at our WALLETS!

Yes, these neglected jewels carry our story. From gift cards, to debit cards, to credit cards, to frequent customer cards and so on, our wallets are home to more than our cash. Our patterns, tastes, organizational styles and identities are all held home in our wallets. So why not care for what our wallets contain? Is it because society moves too fast and we don’t have the time? Or is because we simply don’t make the time?

Ladies, it is time to put an end to a cluttered wallet and rid yourself of a pound of cards!

First…Take everything out of your wallet. That’s right, dump it all! Then trash all unused, expired and severely damaged cards, receipts, etc.

Second…Separate your cards in an order of importance, the most important being your driver’s license and social security card to the least important, your frequent customer café card.

Third…Consider what is most important to you. Does your budget need cut? Do you have high balances on your credit cards? Why are you carrying certain cards, for security purposes? To attract attention? Figure out why you have it and why its important.

Fourth…Purge! Let go of the unnecessary. Maybe if you drop the frequent customer card from your café, you won’t be inspired to go, hence saving you money and lbs!

Fifth…Return everything to your wallet in a well-arranged, organized manner.

Sixth…If you don’t already have a budget established, make one! Track your expenditures! If you credit balance is high, or if you’re prone to using plastic, then stick to one card. Once a balance has been maintained for a while, then possibly increase to two cards. Generally, there isn’t much more of a need for the plastic beyond the original two cards.

If you are having shopping addiction or credit card addiction then please check out these websites for assistance.

Interested in This Season’s Hottest Trend?

Trend Alert! Floral; it’s in. (Always have been, always will be..) Don’t believe me? Check out these floral jeans featured as Gotta Have It by Teen Vogue. So maybe you’re not that daring and edgy and these pants aren’t for you. I can admit that I wouldn’t wear them. I don’t know if that’s due to the fact that I’m not daring enough to rock the floral printed jeans or that I know these jeans would make my legs look more than 10x bigger, much the opposite of what I want a pair of jeans to do. Either way, if you can’t rock the floral jeans; there are plenty of things you can rock. Try a floral print dress, skirt, headband, scarf or even FLORAL HANDBAGS! What could be better? They’re cute, flirty, feminine and fun. Whether it be a floral print or one simple flower (much like the outfits in Rochas Spring 2010 Collection) Handbag Heaven floral handbags to fit your every desire. There is our Rohm Zipper Hobo or our Maui Floral Print Satchel. Also, there’s no forgetting one our our newest gems: The Brianna Soft Flower Clutch.

From the Photo Studio: Meet Photographer Sara

Let me introduce myself. I’m Sara. I’m a lover of fashion, art, and candy. I’m an avid photographer, photographing anything and everything…which brings me to my current gig: resident photographer for Handbag Heaven.

Shooting has changed drastically for me since coming on board at Handbag Heaven. I now shoot in an environment completely controlled by myself, my subjects no longer move or blink, and while some photographers are concerned with shadows on faces, I’m concerned with handbag handles.

One of the best parts of this job is checking out all of the amazing bags. I’ve pretty much started a wish list and it’s bound to get lengthy…occupational hazard.

Chelsea Envelope Clutch

1. Chelsea Envelope Clutch
This bag is easy to carry underarm or by hand
and fits right into my hassle-free lifestyle.
Remember, you don’t have to be fancy to carry a clutch.
My philosophy: Every day is clutch-worthy.

The Sami is extraordinarily chic and classic.
It’s begging me to take it home.

Vintage Thick Flat Wallet

3. Vintage Thick Wallet
This wallet doubles as a clutch and can fit
my daily necessities: cards, cash, keys and candy.
The best part: I can take it shopping,
then toss it in my camera bag when shooting.

You’ll be hearing a lot from me in the future. And you should be as excited as I am.

New Merch’ Monday: Valencia Blush Hobo

Valencia Blush HoboI’m not usually one to play favorites when it comes to fashion items. (I love all of you equally, my dear ballet flats. Please do not fight amongst yourselves.) And I can usually point out some level of quality in any piece (albeit a few items…crocscoughjuicyjumpsuitscoughthesecough), however when an item like the Valencia Blush Hobo comes around, you have to put it at the top of the style pile.

Valencia Blush Hobo backWith one touch of this pretty carry-all, the buttery softness of the leatherette exterior will take your heart. I can honestly say that this is one of the best imitation leathers I’ve seen in all my years as a handbag purveyor. The exterior detailing is imaculate, supplying just enough visual interest as to not overwhelm an outfit.

How to wear this? The magical thing about the Valencia Blush Hobo is it’s versitility - this baby is obviously well-suited for a more formal ensemble, but is still subtle enough in design to be worn while the sun is high. Then there’s the Valencia’s color. The lush grey is neutral but interesting, thus perfect for everyday wear.

Let me warn you though, I’d avoid this handbag if you’re not up for compliments from strangers. They’re a-comin’!

New Merch’ Monday: Dakota Convertable Backpack

I’ve had a love for all things convertible since childhood - age 5 to be exact.

Dakota Convertible Backpack

Dakota Convertible Backpack - Front

I remember it well: It was the day of my little sister’s birth and I was staying with a family friend because my mom and dad were at the hospital. I was a little down because I missed my parents and wasn’t particularly convinced that the little bundle of joy to come would be anything more than a life-ruiner who happened to look like me. So after a matinee showing of 101 Dalmations (yes, it had just come out for the first time in theaters) we took a trip to the mall, where I received the COOLEST Barbie I’ve seen to this day. Why was it so cool? Because she wore a rockin’ gold puffy jacket (it was the early ’90s) that with a few alterations transformed into a miniskirt. I was hooked.

Dakota Convertible Backpack - Back

Dakota Convertible Backpack - Back

Here I am now having a similar reaction to the very chic Dakota Convertable Backpack. This lovely can be worn as a shoulder bag or backpack without any adjustment of the straps or clasps. Simply pull the strap up at bag’s top to throw over your shoulder, or pull the strap tight at each side to wear on your back. I know…I almost died too. Just take a deep breath, it helps.

The Dakota comes in black and brown leatherette and fastens at the front with a metallic clasp. Also don’t be fooled by these dinky pics, this thing is pretty darn roomy (16″ by 15.5″) - totally big enough to hold anything from books to baby bottles. It’s simple, convertible style is also a plus as it can be dressed up or down. Wear it as a backpack with jeans for class or the grocery store (is there anything better than hands-free shopping?), or throw it over your shoulder for dinner out.

The Dakota Convertible Backpack would also make the perfect gift for that friend (mom, daughter, niece…) who has everything. I’d be willing to bet she won’t have this!

How would you wear it?
